The AMK trek is a dream of every mountaineer, and I was dreamt it from last 3 to 4 years... The long wait is over and finally day has come for AMK Trek... šŸ˜Š

Trek Organized by: Ramblers India

Start: 21.12.24, 8:00 am from Samrad Village.

End: 22.12.24 up to 2:30 pm in Ambewadi.

This is an extremely hard trek in the Sahyadris, even if you are an experienced trekker.

It's hard because of the distance you have to trek and the terrain you have to negotiate.

Alang, Madan and Kulang offer their own set of challenges to the trekkers.

The AMK trek is done, in that order A, M and K, or some folks do it in the MAK order. We did it in the AMK way and we met trekkers midway doing it the MAK way!

Whichever way, this is one Hell of a Trek, you will remember for your life!

1. Alang is an energy zapping endurance trek, will suck the energy out of you by the time you scale it. The Rappelling at the end of the Alang trek is thrilling.

2. Madan is an interesting, trek with lots of edgy scary steps to climb...almost vertical. Lots of steps, and a good Rope Climbing on the onward Journey and an equally thrilling Rappelling during the descent.

3. Kulang trek is a hybrid combination of both Alang and Madan with extremely narrow near vertical steps and a good amount of trek terrain that tests your endurance. Not to mention the loose soil that's hard to grip on.

This trek is Tough, and I cannot help myself repeating this!

The local guides make it look easy, but it isn't.

However, once we complete our trek in 30.5 hrs, you get a sense of accomplishment that you will cherish for the rest of your life and the best part, you will want to do it again, despite the numerous hardships and torture this Trek gives you!

While on the AMK trek, the night spent at Madan fort at the end of Day 1, the community dining with Fellow Trekkers that night and see the sun come up from the beautiful mountains the next day are something you will treasure for the rest of your trekking life and beyond.

I have done a few treks in Sahyadris, but AMK by far is the toughest, torturous, brutal And... Yet the most satisfying trek to date.

On our trek, I interact with new members, and all are very supportive during the whole trek.

Our trek Leader is Vaibhav Sir and Vishal Sir, both have great knowledge of trekking and are technically strong.

Some examples are like, how to identify good drinking water, how to fill water bottles, how to do rope rappelling and climbing... They are very friendly in nature which helps us to complete our trekking successfully.

My new friends are Raj Bhai, Sachin Bhai, Karan bhai, Jayesh bhai, Jaimon bhai and Shreyash...

Everyone has a unique quality which I can't forget in my life.

About me, I was very scared during rappelling and climbing... I felt, why l came for this trek but after doing these I have no words to show my happiness.

Last, our local trek leader Vinod bhai and Lalu bhau- you both are very awesome and all-rounder. You made breakfast, lunch and dinner which is so deliciousšŸ˜‹, Thank you...

Finally, Big Thank you to all for your company... without your presence this trek couldn't be possible...
